Gary wrote, I was told years ago that Kegel was a name that derived from Keglar, a german form of bowling from the German Black Forest. Does anyone have any info to substantiate my hearsay.? Gary, I've heard the same thing over the years. I got out my old college German dictionary and the German word for bowl is Kegeln. Kegel is a masculine noun meaning cone. Fortunately, I have never been called one of the original "coneheads" I have also heard that a Kegeler was a barrel maker. Has anyone ever heard that? Tom Saegertown, PA
