Jodie, We know that David was born in Germany in 1728, the son of Leonhart and wife Susanna Kegel. Henry Cagle, Sr., d. 1802 Moore Co., NC, had a son William Cagle who was born in 1754 in NC, and died in Sevier Co., TN after 1850. Although possible, it is not probable that you could squeeze these two generations into a 26 year span, David and Henry each having a son at age 13, or some combination to make 26 years. More likely David and Henry, Sr. were brothers. If my assumptions are correct, and I am relying on others heavily, David, b. 1728, Ger., d. 1784-90 Cabarrus Co., NC, did have a son Henry Cagle, Sr., b. ca 1760, d. after 1837, perhaps in Hardin Co. TN. This Henry, Sr. lived in Mecklenburg Co., NC in 1790, then for many years in Cabarrus and Montgomery Co., NC. He was shown on the 1833 Tax List of Hardin Co., TN, filed for vacant land there in 1837, but never completed the process to get title to the land.
