He and his family settled in southern Randolph County North Carolina by 1770. There is a book which I am trying to locate called Cagle's in the south where most of the work has already been done. I have traced myself as a 10th generation, Kevin-James-Murdo-John Charles-Branson-Martin-Henry Jr.-Henry Sr.-Leonard. I have been able to get most of this from family, since we still have an annual reuion for John Charles and his ancestors (Murdo and his brothers and sisters and their families). It is held in Randolph County NC, where I was born, though I now live in Ohio.
