Cagle book said Peter was born 1775, moved from Moore County, to Randolph County, in the 1820s, then moved to Cherokee County, GA. ,in 1839 where he died in 1842. In the year 1839 , Peter Cagle and his children migrated from Moore County, NC., to Cherokee County, GA. , the were supposed to have been on their was to Mississippi, but when they met a Mr. Keith they agreed to stop in cherokee County, for one year to make furniture. Cabinet makers and carpenters, they settled at a mill-site on Hickory Log Creek just north of Canton . Peter Cagle did not by land , he died in 1842 and his wife died soon after him . In 1848 his sons John and Martin pruchased land in Cherokee County, GA. It will be noted that the four children of Peter were born between the years 1809 and 1816.
