Our Pleas' are just really a hart nut to crack. I tend to side with your opinion about the Indian Heritage, Earl, however the family has so many stories (hearsake I believe) that I am just pursuing every angle. Here is the story about Chief Charlie Monta Zoma Cagle.......for whatever it is worth: ____________________ Sandra & List, Your family story is interesting, and iam sure contains fact & fiction. He may well have been a chief of a small break away tribe. You can see how he may have fallen in love with a Cherokee woman. With her long black hair, high cheek bones, and dark complexion. Any off spring to this couple would be one half Cherokee & one half Anglo Saxon. Hence how the hurtful term half breed came about. Mabey this was why they rode through town rasing cain:) Then the childrens children would be 1/4 Cherokee blood. By the time it gets to our generation there isn't much left. Earl
