David, Thanks for your reply and also for the spelling correction of Cerro Gordo, Tennessee. I had not looked this up in my atlas but had taken it the way it was written in family records. (They had it spelled as it sounds.) Benjamin Jackson Alexander Cagle, b. 12 Oct 1891 in Cerro Gordo, TN. married Precious Zuba Shaw in 1911 in Savannah, Tennessee. (I would love to see a birth record for him, all I have is family records.) I would also like to see a marriage record. Precious Zuba Shaw was b. 7 Jul 1881 in Saltillo, TN. Columbus Silvester Cagle, b. 1873 in Alabama. Married Tempie Ann Whitlow in 1890 in Alabama. Columbus d. 1953 in Venice, Illinois. Benjamin Alexander Cagle (I do not have any dates for him.) Married Elizabeth Ann Wilson or Guthrie. She was b. 1847 and she d, 1905-1909 in Florence, Alabama. James "Jim" Cagle dates unknown, wife may have been Sarah Bird. James is my oldest known Cagle ancestor. I do not know how long they lived in Cerro Gordo, Tennessee. I would appreciate any records of this family from that area. They were in Alabama by 1893. They lived in Winston County Alabama for several years. I would love to be able to take this line back farther. I believe that we are descendants of Leonhart Kegel, because of the names that we have in common, but I have no idea where we connect. If any one sees a connection please let me know.
