The family I am looking for gave a residence of Moorehouse MO, and lived in New Madrid Co. in 1900. I believe Moorehouse is near the boundary between Scott and New Madrid Co's.? 1900 Census, New Madrid Co., MO John Cagle 47 MO, b. Mar 1853 Elizer J. 52 IL, b. Aug 1847 George W. 21 MO, b. Oct 1893 _________________________ David & List, Yes, as you say New Madrid & Scott Co; Mo; are close together. They also are very near the border of Arkansas. Myself and a few others at one time had Cagle's, living in Arkansas. As you & others know the 1900 census gives quite a bit of data. You know your John Cagle, was born March 1853, in Missouri. Of course this dosen't tell you what county in Missouri. This can cause problems trying to track someone in an earlier census. Such a case is my g-grandmother Mary A.Cagle, which the 1900 census shows her b. Feb. 1860 in Arkansas. However, we go back to not knowing in what county they were born. Mary A.Cagle, is listed under this name on her marriage certificate of 7-24-1877, Oregon Co; Mo. So my case may be a cousin who married a cousin. However, as of this date she is still a mystery to me in some areas. Earl
