Hi List, Nancy Jane, and Rhonda I just got back from the McClung research center here in Knoxville and I found something that may be of interest. As the 1870 and 1880 census had Henry P Cagle's wife Catherine as being born in Tennessee, I wanted to look at the 1850 census to see if there was a Warner family who would have a child Catherine of about 5 years of age. I found in the index the following: 659-847 Marion Co, TN Warner, James 38, Eliza 34, Anna 14, John 16, Thomas 12, Mary 10, Melinda 6, Cathanne 4, Ruth, Sarah 7/12 Parents born in Ireland. I am having the microfilm reproduced so I can see it better. Marion Co like Warren Co, were so many of the Cagle's lived, is in the southern part of middle TN. I do not know if this 4 yo Cathanne could be the 25 yo Catherine in 1870 and the 37 yo Catherine in 1880, but it is worth following. There was no James Warner in TN in 1860 so the family moved or lost a husband. The migration patters out of this area is into AL and westward to MS, AK, MO and for the Cagles, IL can be included. I looked for James in AK and MO but not MS, as yet, nor info available in IL, only Chicago. I will go to the original census the next chance I get to see if any of the 3 James I found have a matching family that could have ended up in Johnson Co., IL in 1865 where Henry P is suppose to have married Catherine. Rhonda, if you are going to find an American Indian connection with Catherine it may well be on the Stokes, maternal side. Jay Childress
