In fact, it was this book that inspired me to begin my own research on my CAGLE ancestors (especialy the CAGLE/SAYLOR branch in North Alabama). My Great-Grandmother was MaryAn CAGLE ("Mollie") who was dau. of Franklin H. CAGLE (b. 1833) who was son of George CAGLE (b. 1808). MaryAn CAGLE married John Robert SAYLOR in Marshall County, AL. Mr. Burchinal descends from George CAGLE, b. 1808 in Montgomery Co., NC. He and his wife, Milly HENSON/CAGLE, b. 1814 in Montgomery Co, NC migrated to North Alabama (Morgan County) in the 1840's. They had the following children: Franklin H. CAGLE, b. 1808 (in NC); m. Elizabeth Barbria LIGHT (my GG-Gps) Henry H. CAGLE; m. Sarah EUDY George Wilson "Wiltz" CAGLE; b. 1841; m. Ophilia CLODDY John Hampton CAGLE; m. Sarah S. CRISCOE; 2nd marriage: Nancy S. EUDY Tempey CAGLE, b. 1846 (Morgan Co, AL) Bird CAGLE (male), b. 1847 (Morgan Co, AL) William Hodge CAGLE; b. 1848 Linsey CAGLE; b. 1850; m. Mary KILLINGSWORTH Mary E.J. CAGLE; b. 1848; m. Lewis D. ADAMS James CAGLE, b. 1856 (Marshall Co, AL) Mr. M. L. BURCHINAL was born 1-14-1913 in Detroit, TX); his mother was Mattie Myrtle CAGLE/BURCHINAL b. 1876 in AL; d. 1971 in TX and was the daughter of John Hampton CAGLE who was son of George CAGLE, b. 1808 in NC. Back to the book: "CAGLE PEOPLE" contains lots of info regarding the George CAGLE (b. 1808 in NC/Milly HENSON) line; but also contains much info on the history of the CAGLE family on back to Leonhart CAGLE, our immigrant ancestor. The book was published in 1988. Mr. Burchinal 's(author/artist) address was listed as: Mr. M.L. Burchinal P.O. Box 5085 Modesto, CA 95352 Phone: (209) 523-5144 His children were listed as: John Calvin Burchinal and Duane Grant Burchinal. I found telephone listings for individuals by those names on the internet. There is a John Calvin Burchinal listed in Modesto, CA: (209) 551-5546; and a Duane Grant Burchinal listed in San Jose, CA: (408) 978-2559. Perhaps these are the sons of M.L. Burchinal since they are in the same general area. I do not know if the elder Burchinal is still living. He would be 86 yrs old by now. I would like to have a copy of the book myself, and plan to try calling the above numbers for more info about obtaining my own copy. You might want to try this avenue also. I believe the book sells for about $40. For the other CAGLE LIST MEMBERS, would like to correspond with anyone who descends from George CAGLE (b. 1808 in NC) and wife, Milly HENSON/CAGLE. Would also like to know who this George's parents and grandparents were and how they fit in the Leonhart CAGLE (our immigrant ancestor) descendency. Hope this helps.
