Hello Board, Someone please help me understand the family structure of this Charles Cagle. In the CAGLE CENSUS RECORDS OF THE SOUTH, 1860-1910, page 226, John G. Cagle writes: "Charles Cagle, above, moved from NC to Warren Co., TN in the 1820s, then to Winston Co., AL, in the 1830s. His first wife --- mother of sons John T., b.1821, Loyd H., b.ca.1823, James Riley, 1824-1904, Jeremiah, b. ca. 1828, George W., 1835-1922 and Silas, b.ca.1838 -- died in the 1840s. Charles then married to Lenah Cagle, above, the Daughter of Valentine Cagle, Jr., b1786. who also moved to the Winston Co. area in the 1830s. Valentine, Jr. was a brother of John Cagle, 1798-1863, and Charles was apparently their cousin. Charles and Lenah, in addition to the three children noted above (Talitha b. 1848AL, Lavina b. 1952 AL, Charles b.1855) had a son named Andrew (age 1 in the 1850 Winston Census." Now turn from page 226 to page 228, where John G. Cagle writes referring to the 1880 census of Marion Co., AL: " Easter, 1815-1885, b.1822 and Telitha, b. 1822, were the unmarried daughters of Valentine Cagle, Jr. b 1786, ... . Annie was a sister of Easter and Telitha above. In the 1840s she had married Charles Cagle, b.1790s, a cousin who had moved to AL in the 1830s with her father Valentine, Jr." Questions: 1. Did Charles marry two of Valentine's Jr.'s daughters, Annie and Lenah? 2. Are Annie and Lenah the same person? 3. The big question? Who are the parent of this Charles? Jimmy B.
