Nancy Jane, Thanks for the Yell Co., AR Marriage records. Henry Cagle shown on the list was my g/g/uncle. He moved to that area of AR from Hardin Co., TN in 1879 with his third wife---well not quiet his wife yet. The one he left behind in Hardin Co., TN, No. 2, didn't obtain a divorce until 1882. I guess after that date they were legal, common law? Henry and Martha Lindsay Smith had two children before Martha died in 1891. As is shown in the information below, Henry and his fourth wife were married in 1894. They also had two kids. The only thing wrong with the marriage record is that uncle Henry must have forgotten how old he was when he bought the license. Perhaps he was feeling younger? He was born in 1842 which would make him 52 instead of the 40 shown on the record.
