New information I have Charles Cagle who was married to Malinda Belle Austin the son of Valintine and Martha Austin Cagle, This is out of the Georgia book : John G. Cagle, c1789-1860s, was a xousin of Valentine, and he is the likely father of Charles Cagle, born 14 Sept. 1817 and died Sept. 26, 1870. and his wife Malinda Belle Austin Cgle, born Aug. 9, 1821 and died on Jan 29, 1877 , they are both buried at Deer Head Cove Cemetery, DeKalb Co. (Cagle) Blevins 1843-1901 3rd daughter of Charles and Malinda and wife of James Blevins, 1848-1925. Also Malinda's father and mother are buried there Hezekiah Daniel and Nancy Jane Blevins Austin . Brother of Charles , William Cagle, born March 31, 1819, died April 09, 1862 , Big head stones. Williams wife Elizabeth P. remarried to a Mr. McDaniel and she erected his headstone. Jerri, Thanks for your response. Valentine Cagle (Sr.) is not listed as a son in the will of John "Dutchman" Cagle. I think Valentine is considered by most, to be the son of David Cagle, b. 1728 Ger. David is thought to be a brother of John "Dutchman." Lee, I can't straighten you out. But, you have posted some material that might explain some questions that I have had. As far as I know, my Cagle family runs as follows: Leonard the immigrant (1); David, b. 1728 Ger. (2) and Henry Cagle, Sr., b. 1760's NC, d. ca 1737, Hardin Co., TN (3). We know from NC records that Henry Cagle, Sr. was married to a Wagoner. Therefore, I am assuming that the Henry Cagle you have listed below is Henry Cagle, Sr. and wife (Elizabeth) Wagoner. I did not know her given name. >From the census records, it appears that Henry Sr. and Elizabeth had 4 sons. John G. Cagle has suggested that one of these sons was David Cagle who was enumerated in the 1830 census of Anson Co. and the 1840 census of Montgomery Co., and that most of his his family migrated to Morgan County AL. Anyone belong to this line? The other three sons of Henry Sr. appear to have moved to Hardin Co., TN in the 1820's. Charles was there by 1822, George by 1826, and Henry Jr. before 1830. George and Henry Jr. remained in Hardin County until 1838 at which time they moved to New Madrid Co., M0. George died in 1840 and Henry Jr. in 1857 in New Madrid Co. Charles lived in that part of Hardin Co. which was to become McNairy County in 1823. He bought land in McNairy County in 1837 and sold the same tract on January 22, 1838. Where Charles went after 1838, I do not know. Could the Charles Cagle of Hickman Co. be the same as the Charles of Hardin and McNairy Co.? Help from anyone will be appreciated. Hi Lee, Maybe I can help a little with your question about Charles Cagle b 1779 who married Elizabeth Curb. He is my ancestor as well as Earl's. I have included below his line beginning with his father Leonard Cagle (son of Leonhart). I do not include living individuals, so since I am not on the list, I am the son of Thomas Brown Cagle ie Thomas Arthur Cagle b 1950. Hope this helps. Tom Saegertown, PA Descendants of Leonard Cagle Generation No. 1 1. LEONARD2 CAGLE (LEONHART1 KEGEL) was born Abt. 1730. He married SUSANNAH RICHARDSON. Dempsey Cagle had the following children: William b. 1856, Aaron F. b. 1866, Louisa W. b. 1872, Mary C. b. 1874 (apparently after the death of Dempsey in 1883). I have an Aunty Opal Cagle, who grew up in Oklahoma, but was born in Rockwell, Texas in 1920. I am sure she is not the same one, if your dates are correct. In any even, if you come up with a connection, please send me the decendency, as well. I am sure they would be a relative, as most Cagles are. Sorry I can't help you more.
