I am looking for information on my greatgrandfather - Mack C. Cagle. On my grandmother's SS-5 she listed her father as Mathew Claredy Cagle. On the 1880 census of Lamar County, Texas, he and his parents were born in Georgia. He was not in Lamar County before the 1880 census. He married Martha Caroline Foster (Mattie) in 1878 in Texas. He may have been in Oklahoma for a time. I believe his mother was an Indian. He was born in 1849 and died in 1920 (buried in Lamar Co., TX). Mack and Mattie had the following children: Minnie, Frank, Rufus, Nell, Ethel, Maude and Sally. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Judi ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com

Hello all, I must confess that lately I have been very busy. So in effect I haven't been able to spend as much time on the list & website, as I would like to. This afternoon I got several Birth, Marriage, and Death records posted. Thanks to all of you, who submitted your data to the Cagle Family Website. To the new folks on the mail list, there is also a website. After checking out several web servers, the Family Shoebox site, proved to be the best. This was started by myself, as was this Cagle mail list. However, with out folks like yourselves, this all would be a total bust. Our Cagle list is soon approaching it's 1st. year Anniversary. And thanks to you all it has been a great success. Those of you who signed on at the very start, have been more help than you know. So continued good luck in your genealogical research to all of you. Please feel free at any time to ask questions to this list about your, Cagle's. We have some folks who are some of the very best at family research. They could very well be professional genealogists. However, they enjoy this great endeavor as a hobby as I do. Take Care, Earl

Nancy & List, Nice work on the Blount County, cemeteries. This makes me wonder how the name Kagley, came to be. This has to be a surname similar to Cagle, and Kegel. In fact there has been a time a two, when my name was pronounced or spelled that way. Thanks for all this information Nancy. Earl
Sequoyah Okay since this is our first file I will mention that according to several references, Seqoyah md a Sally Benge in 1815? So who's daughter is Sallie. I have heard that she is his second wife, U Ti Yu . I do have a copy of her 1842 claim and her claim for his military pention states that she was his surviving widow. I have also heard that he had children with several other women. Please keep in mind that his file is by no means complete and can have errors, any additional information on any of the following would be gladly accepted. When responding about this file please put Sequoyah in your subject line. If this seems to work we will add some additionals family files, who know's you might find just who you are looking for.
