As far as I know I am the only heir that is doing any research. If anyone has any clue as to where Jacob Cagle born in 1797 fits, I would love to hear from you. HELP! Thanks for the interest. Sorry I couldn't answer your question. Bye Dennis Cagle

Although this young Marie Kegel, may not be of our ancestory, it is of great importance anyway. Plus she well could be an as yet unkown Cagle, ancestor of someone. There may be some more references to Cagle, and I will pass it along. For my part I can only read & write a few basic German words. However, it would sure be nice to see where this Henry Kegel, fits. Translation of his will would mabey give us the vital clues we need. For we have two Henry Kegel's, who lived in the same era, but in different areas. As most of you know there was a will left by Henry Kegel, from Moore Co; NC 1802. So we have a Henry Kegel, from Moore Co; NC; and Henry Kegel from Northhampton Co; PA. Who ever said that Kegel / Cagle, research would be easy. Earl

    1. Henry Kegel
    2. Tom & Debbie Cagle
    3. Guten Tag, It's a great summer day here in PA for late fall. Usually we have snow by now. Several months ago I got a copy of the will of one Henry Kegel probated in Northampton CO, PA in 1789. Since that time I have tried several avenues to get it translated. I sent it to my old German professor in college and he was unable to decipher much of it and suggested I send it to Germany to be translated. Well I used some connections and sent it through my wifes company to the German sales rep. He tried and showed it to his grandmother and neither one of them could make it out. It seems that it is done in an old style of german that they cannot read. He was going to try a German University language department. To make a long story short, it isn't translated yet...so I have posted a copy of the first page on the web. If any of you would like to take a shot at it, please do so. IF you have any success, let me know and I'll send along the other pages. The URL is http://www.angelfire.com/pa/civilwarcagle/images/will.jpg Aufwiedersehen! Tom Cagle Saegertown, PA

    3. Hi Cagle Cousins, an interesting site today. Most of you probably already heve these Tennessee Cagles, but it never hurts to have a second source. I find 29 Cagle marriages in the database below. Best wishes, Doyle TENNESSEE MARRIAGES, 1851-1900 Becoming the sixteenth state in 1796, Tennessee was home to over one million residents before the American Civil War. This database is a collection of marriage records from the state between 1851 and 1900. Researchers will find the names of both bride and groom along with the marriage date. The county where the ceremony was performed is also provided. Containing about 58,000 records and the names of nearly 120,000 men and women, this collection can be a tremendous aid to those seeking ancestors from the area. Bibliography: Dodd, Jordan R. 1. Marion Co., AL: Sherod W. Cagle
    2. Anyone know a Sherod W. Cagle? My gg-grandparents, Charles & Susan Stokes, sold land to Sherod W. Cagle on January 18, 1866. The land sold was located in Marion Co., AL but the deed was recorded in Massac Co., IL as that's where Charles was living at the time. Land description: the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 & NE 1/4 of SW 1/4 of Section 34 in Township 10 of Range 12 West. 79 acres and 6 1/100 acre. Marion County, AL. $1600. It's recorded in book M, page 5. I found this on films at the Family History Center. Charles originally obtained the land on September 1, 1860 as you can see on the online Goverment Land Office site.
