I have noticed that a few Cagle list members, have some of my ancestors on Rootsweb's WorldConnect project. However, the date for my g-grandfather John T. Gunter's birth, is not correct. His full name was John Tyler Gunter, born 11-27-1852 in Missouri (unknown county). He died 1-13-1941 in Centerville Hickman Co; Tn. This data on him comes from his death certificate. His father was William Gunter, of Davidson Co; Tn; unknown date of birth. His son W.T. Gunter is the informant on his fathers death certificate. He appears to not have known much about his own family. There is no information as to who William Gunter, his grandfather was married to. Her first name is thought to be Nancy, however it is open to debate as to her last name. John T. Gunter's wife, was Susannah Jane Cagle born 2-21-1849 in Hickman Co; Tn. She died in Perry Co; Tn; on 12-08-1913. Her father was Thomas Cagle Sr. & mother Rachel Chessor. John & Susannah Gunter, were my g-grandparents. They married in Hickman Co; Tn; 12-14-1873. Until about a year ago I didn't have complete birth & death information on John T. Gunter. So I want to make anyone aware who has them online to update their data. While searching on the Missouri State Archives site, there was a court record of a will for Joseph Kegel, dated 28 Dec 1863. He and his wife Anna Maria Kegel, had no children and the estate was left to his wife. There was a stipulation that Joseph Kegel's, sister Anna Maria Storch a widow receive $50.00 a year for the rest of her life. My wife and I are not sure on her last name although it appears to be " Storch ". If anyone has access to the 1850 St. Louis County & City census would you check for his listing? Hi Neda, Yes, he was my great great grandfather. Enlisted with 24th Ga. Co. I Glade Guard Volunteers. Died in Lynchburg, VA of typhoid - buried 8-2-1862 in Old City Cemetery Confederate Section in Lynchburg. Gee, all these years of searching and now two replies in one day! I wish I could say, "YES!!!!!! THAT'S OUR MARCENA"!!!!! But I really don't know and don't know how to go about finding out. If you will read my reply to Dorothy dated today you can see all the infomation I have on the family of Samuel Harvey Lethgo and Marcena Cagle. I have spoken to everyone in my husband's family and they have given me all the information they have on her. As the two children of Samuel who are still living are Samuel's second wife's children. Do you know if your Marcena ever lived in Loudon, Tennessee? I do have a marriage date for Samuel Harvey Lethgo & Marcena Cagle of August 11, 1889 in Monroe, TN. Not sure if that is Monroe County or Monroe City. I believe that some people referred to Samuel as "Harvey". Gee, I wish I could give you more information on Marcena!!! I don't know where she is burried, but do know that there are some Lethgo's buried in Concord, TN in a cemetery called Long Tom. I haven't been able to find her in said cemetery. Marcena was my husband's great grandmother. Marcena & Samuel Harvey Lethgo had, I believe, four chldren: James Ernest b.May 18, 1892 Lenior City, Tenn. Sidney Andrew b. Aug. 21, 1894 Joseph William b. Nov. 24, 1896 Frank Lethgo b. Oct. 21, 1900 d.May 11, 1901 James Ernest was my husband's grandfather. He died in Altus, Oklahoma July 1, 1968. Marcena died Feb. 20, 1901. Samuel Harvey Lethgo married Mamie Eblen on Nov. 16, 1902 in Loudon, TN. I have all the information on Samuel & Mamie's children.......two of whom are still living. But they don't know anything about Marcena's family......ugh! I wish I had more info. on her, but just don't. Haven't been able to find them on any census to date. But I'm hoping to be able to get to the local LDS Library and see what I can find there. My husband is newly disabled and it's hard for me to get away. I would appreciate any information.
