Lee Cagle Okla City -- liljdonnal@aol.com wrote: James Daniel Ford believe was a descendent of the Ford family of Ann Arundel CO., MD. According to the DAR records of Henry Co., VA - Mary was the daughter of JOhn Hardiman. Also marrying into this Hardiman family were the Fords and Bennett (possible Richard himself or a son). The Bennetts came to settle in Buncombe Co., NC. A son was named Hardiman Bennett. The Fords (or at least some of them) first moved to SC and then to GA where some of the children were named Hardiman Ford, Bennett Ford, and Calloway Ford. The Ford family in Henry were also affiliated with the Reno/Reneau, Pharris/Farris, and Posey family - all of which were affiliated with the Ford family as they moved from MD to CUlpepper VA and then down the midland Wagon Rd to Henry Co., VA into NC, and then into SC. Daniel and Mary Ford had at least three children per the Henry COunty Records - David, Daniel, and a daughter. Daniel married Agatha Walker (her family also resided in Henry COUnty, VA). We think Daniel may have been affiliated with either Thomas or John Ford of MD. Lillian J. (Ford) Donnally Lillian J. DonnallyAOL now offers free email to everyone. 3. David, Thank you for your response to my inquiry about Tilda Cagle. Your information does not show a Tilda young enough to be my grandmother, Tilda Cagle born 1894. Since I do not have anything more than a name for one parent, her father, I assume the one in your information is not him but I am filing your information with my other bits and pieces I have and maybe someday as I add more it may come together and solve my puzzle. 3. Burke, Thank you for your response. I'm sure the info you sent is correct for generation 1, 2, 4, and 5. But several cousins and myself have been trying to find the link between Leonard Cagle and the rest of the Cagle clan. Do you have sources for your listing of John Cagle as the father of Leonard, or is that how it is stated in the Burchinal book? We have seen three deferent fathers for Leonard, but none have had traceable references. 3. Burke, These are my thoughts on what you should be concerned about in the linage below. Keep in mind that I am no more an expert than anyone else and base most of my information on the work of John G. Cagle. 1. 1754 appears to be the approximate date when the PA Cagles migrated to Central NC. The known birth date of Jacob Cagle of 1755 in NC suggest a 1754 arrival date. 2. I have never seen information that proves that the Immigrant Leonard Cagle ever lived in NC. 3. If 1 and 2 above are true, Susannah Cagle of Germany would not likely have been in NC by 1750. 4. If Karl Wilhelm Cagle was born in 1722, why would he not have been mentioned in the German baptismal records along with David Cagle.b. 1728 and his sister who was born about 1715? Perhaps someone has some updated information?
