    3. Lee, We have talked about my Cagle line before, when Jimmy Cagle's book came out a few years ago. I'm (Eddie Cox)from the same line as Dana Meara and Mary Galyon. Leonard Cagle b. 1798, NC., died Aug. 1866 in Transylvania Co. NC. Married Mary Osborne (1797-1869). Children: Anna Myra Margaret Charles Hughey- (Dana's line) Ruth Elvira Jane Nancy- (My line) Jacob W. Rebecca Louise James Henry- (Mary's line) If you recall we didn't agree with some of the data Jimmy put in his book, because at the time and still today to my knowledge, there is no proof of the parents or siblings of our Leonard. Oooh how I wish there was! If you have found some new info, I truly would love to see it, as I'm sure Mary and Dana would as well. We have been chasing this ghost far too long. 3. Hi Kim, There are several cousins on the list that descend from this Leonard Cagle family. I am from James Henry's sister, Nancy Cagle. Mary Galyon is a direct descendant from James Henry. Another member Dana Meara is from his brother Charles. I'm not sure if Mary is still on the list or not, but I know she is on the Transylvania Co. gen list on Yahoo. I'm not real familiar with James' line but I can try to help. Let me know your interest is and I'll give a whirl, if Mary no longer is on here. 3. Hi, Nancy. This Joseph C. Cagle and his wife, Emmy, were my gggrandparents. I am a descendant through their daughter Ida Nettie Cagle (Martha I.), and her spouse James M. Cox. Ida Nettie married at the age of 12, and ended up marrying 5 times because she outlived each spouse. I actually knew her when she was in her 90's and still living in the 1960's and I was a young girl. Thank you very much for posting this information; I have been looking for documentation on Joseph in terms of what his first wife's name was, because I did not know that Easter and Emma were one in the same. I have also been looking for info on her parents, and was not sure of my information. I had been given info that her father's name was Daniel Madison Dotson; is this correct? Also, I had no name for her mother. Do you have any other info, such as grandparents, siblings, etc? Also, would you mind sharing your source? ALso, any idea if there was native American ancestry somewhere in the family? My grandfather, Ida's son, was very Native AMerican looking, as was my mother. I appreciate your help tremendously; this is the first time on this list that I have seen this detailed info, despite looking for quite a while. I can give you my info on Ida Nettie (Martha Ida) Cagle, down to me and my family, if you would like it. Sincerely, Kim Townsend Spangrude

You and I have exchanged info previously, but it was before I had a good gedcom program. I have no info as to where she died; I have not gotten far on this line of my ancestry. Also, I have very little on Joseph C. Cagle, and have no idea where any of them died except for my great grandmother, Ida Nettie (Martha I.) Cagle who died in Calaveras County, California October 10, 1965. She was married to James Monroe Cox April 9th 1889, at the age of 12. He died in 1917, and she was married 4 more times. When she died, her married name was Marshall. Please send me any more info that you have. I have dates of birth of Joseph C. and Emaline Minerva Dotson Cagle's children, including my g.grandmother, but no dates of death, no place of death, no spouses. I am not even sure of Emaline's father and mother. I have that Joseph C. Cagle first married an Esther or Easter Dotson who was born about 1840. I don't know if Easter/Esther and Emma were sisters, cousins or other. It is really a mystery to me. I have Henry Cagle born 1798 in South Carolina and Catherine ? born abt 1804 in North Carolina as Joseph Cagle's parents. Joseph Cagle's parents were John and Lucy Cagle, both born 1770 in Moore North Carolina according to the 1850 census in Haywood, NOrth Carolina. I would really like more help with this line!!!!!
