    3. If John was Jonathan and Rachel Fox Cagle's son, he would have shown in census with them. I do not believe he is. I believe they connect as families intermingled and once someone guesses where someone goes, people follow. Caldwell, Moody, Owen, Cagle, etc. all intermingled for so long. 3. Concerning the DNA, remember you only get half from each parent. Science says it is a toss up which half you get (I prefer what God says-that he knit me in my mothers womb- so he chose my design!) We have German ancestry, but those genes just may have not been passed down. This is why many people also do not show having Native American DNA even though they were told stories of a Native American ancestor. Also some traits are dominant and some are recessive. So a dominant trait will always be expressed unless you have 2 recessive traits. I didn't know that your Cagles' had kinky Afro hair. My Cagle's didn't get that trait (stick straight or slight wave for most of them). I always assumed my natural curl came from my Mom's side (Fitzgerald) not the Cagle side since she had the same natural curl. Hmmm! I had my DNA done through ancestry. 80% England/Wales, 8% Ireland/Scotland, 8% Germanic European , 4% Norway. I was surprised that I didn't have more German and more Irish. The England/Wales percentage was quite a shock to me. My Paternal (Cagle) Grandmother, Mother and sisters tested too. Our numbers are all quite different. I will look them up tomorrow and post them. (They had much more Irish and Scandinavia and lots of smaller percentages.) I'm still trying to get my Dad (Cagle and Douglas side) to take his test. > > I was told by an ancestry employee that by the end of the month they will be updating everyone's DNA estimates because they have had 16,000 more tests taken and they have a better formula to more accurately analyze the data. 3. LaMona and group, I have a referral code that you can use for ancestrydna. You get 15% off the price and after 30-45 days I get a $10 amazon card . Once you get your kit then you can refer people and get the same. But once you buy it, if you send me your address and I'd be happy to send you the $10 gift card once I receive it. I don't really care so much about the gift card, I just want to find more family on there! Neesiewhite@live.com Discover your ethnic origins with AncestryDNA. Use my link - you'll save 15% and I'll get $10. http://refer.dna.ancestry.com/s/nkgvp?share_id=6570994981334338314 Now sometimes they have better sales going on than the referral discount so check www.ancestrydna.com before you buy! Sometimes when they have a great sale, they give you free shipping if you buy 3 tests, but you have to click their correct link on their site. My DNA was part of the beta test so mine is already updated. I manage 10 tests for family members but they aren't updated yet! > > Denise Douglas White > Donald Douglas > Patricia Cagle (Benton Co. 3. I too showed no German which definitely has to be wrong.  I've had too many DNA matches to the Cagle's to not belong there.   I think DNA still has a long way of improvement to go. 3. LaMona your email made me laugh! My DNA was part of the beta test so mine is already updated. I manage 10 tests for family members but they aren't updated yet! Denise Douglas White Donald Douglas Patricia Cagle (Benton Co. TN) Elijah Green Cagle Elijah C "Lige" Cagle GH Cagle (on Lige's death certificate mother listed as Nory Janson/ Yanson) Have no other documents to go any farther back. Some say Isaac/Martha are his parents but I don't know how to determine which ones are his true parents. Any help would be great! Thanks!
