Dearly beloved husband and best friend of 51 years to Bernice Macht of Healdsburg, Loving father of Julie Garvey and her husband John, of Kerman and Jim Macht of Oceanside. Loving grandfather (Papa) of Lara Stanley of Fresno and Kristin Stanley of Kerman. Loving brother of Rose Kezirian, Freda Pontius, John, Charles, Albert and Fritz Macht, all of Fresno County. Dear brother-in-law of Anita Carter, Maynard Carlson, Lila Story, and John Carlson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Julian is a veteran of the U.S. Army Field Artillery, serving in the European theater as a Liaison Pilot, achieving the rank of Lt Colonel. He often flew General George Patton on observation missions. He is an honorary member of the Retired 30th Field Artillery Association. He retired in 1968 as manager of the Bank of America, Healdsburg branch after 30 years in banking. He became interested in real estate and property management. With flexible hours and being raised on a ranch, he became an avid gardener at his home and often assisted neighbors and friends in their gardening tasks. He will be missed by all as a man of many talents. Julian was active in the Healdsburg Boys and Girls Club for many years and was named Father of the Year in 1969. He was also very active in the youth swimming programs and the Future Farmers Fair Auction procedures. He was a member of the Healdsburg Golf Club, Kiwanis Club, and Good Shepard Lutheran Church. In keeping with his wishes there will be no funeral services. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Sunday August 10, 1997 at the Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 1402 University St., Healdsburg, CA 95448. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Good Shepard Church, or to the charity of their! choice. Arrangements under the direction of Fred Young & Company, Healdsburg.
