In 1872 with partner Charles DeLong he had a stage line to Millerton----once the county seat. He had stables and rented wagons and teams for general uses. In 1872-1873 he was the US Postmaster and had a USMail contract. He installed street lights in front of his business. In 1873 he chased the bandit Tibucio Vasquez with a shotgun.
