Surnames: DOYLE, PERKINS, HARRELL, HOWARD, GEWERTZ Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/GW.2ADE/1010 Message Board Post: I am researching the Doyle-Perkins-Harrell families of Fresno, Fresno Co. and Visalia, Tulare Co. The local families seem to have many ties in common which go back to Dyersberg, TN and the Civil War. I'd like to compare notes with others researching the same areas and names. My father, James Howard, was a member of the Fresno Police Department; 1937 to 1953. I'd like to add to my knowledge of the FPD, his duties there and the men with whom he worked. Dr. Louis Gewertz and his wife Phyllis were a husband and wife doctor-nurse team in Firebaugh in western Fresno Co. I am researching their lives and will appreciate any recollections someone may have of the couple; both have died; there were no immediate relatives in Fresno.
