Burial will be in the Belmont Memorial Park. Smallin died yesterday in his home, 1103 Adoline Avenus, after a long illness. He had lived in Fresno since 1922. Smallin first lived in Orosi, Tulare County, when he came west in 1904 from his native Arkansas. He retired in 1944 after 30 years with the Standard Oil Company as a driver and warehouseman. His first wife, the former Fannie Trammel, to whome he was married more than 50 years, died in 1956. Smallin was a member of the Masonic Lodge 46 years. He was a past master of the Center Masonic Lodge, a past patron of the Rainsina Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and a past president of the Holmes Leisure Club. He is survived by his widow, the former Mary Wilkins; a son, Ernest of Chelan, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. Alpha Rockafellow of San Jose, Mrs. Addie Nimmo of Oakland and Mrs. Adalee Campbell of Los Altos, Santa Cl! ara County; two stepsons, Alvie and Carl Wilkins, both of Fresno; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Genevieve Rider of Fresno; a sister, Mrs. Addie Johnson of Concord, Contra Costa County; two brothers, Polk and Erda Smallin of Texas; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
