He died Saturday at a local rest home. The family requests remembrances be sent to the J D Thomas Memorial Fund of the Sierra Vista Methodist Church which will be used foe the church’s new education building. The Fresno Bee May 11, 1959 THOMAS – James D., aged 87 years. Beloved husband of Mrs. Nellie Thomas; father of Karl Thomas, both of Fresno; Captain J. Perry Thomas of New Jersey and Mrs Dorothy Wagner of Millbrae; stepfather of Orville Stephens of Fresno; 20 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren also survive. Services Wednesday 10 o’clock in the Stephens & Bean Memorial Chapel. Rev. Donald H. Fado officiating. Internment in Belmont Memorial Park. The family asks that any remembrances be given to the J. D. Thomas Memorial Fund at the Sierra Vista Methodist Church for use in the new Education building. James was the son of Ruhama Henderson and William P Thomas.
