    3. Hey family and friends of Fresno county! The items up for auction this week have a couple unusual ones. The first thing I want to mention is the copy of Garden of the Sun which goes off auction TOMORROW. This is a difficult to find book for less than $60. Also found: a medicine bottle from SMITH brothers, Fresno druggists; San Joaquin Light & Power large negative; program from Hall of Records Dedication; Token from KERMAN; Southern California Edison water project booklet; REEDLEY yearbook, 1959; Bernie SISK Memoirs. And postcards to help you fill out the past: Two of the three Fresno City Hall buildings -- you're only missing the new one, and those are pretty cheap. Heck, if you need the third, let me know, I'll send it to you. More postcards: Mariposa Street, Californian Hotel, old Post Office, Hotel Fresno, Hotel Virginia, and believe it or not, TWO real photo postcards of Ockenden from WAY back. REEDLEY 1st Nat'l bank, and a post card I've never seen, the old Palmer Hall of Fresno High School. http://www.hellofresno.com/history/UpForAuction_Fresno_29April2002.html We're having fun now! For anyone who wants a real kick, check out the Tulare auctions this week, there's two postcards there of old downtown Visalia during a flood. I haven't seen these postcards often, but every time I do, I have to wonder who thought putting a flood on a postcard was a good idea. To help tourism? Maybe to inspire confidence and get people to move there? Assure your loved ones you're fine? yeah .... right..... Have a good week everyone! deb (who is going to be a mother-in-law!)
