I'm wondering if there's any chance that death records (from 1927, 1945, and 1951) could be present on the state level but missing from the Fresno County Courthouse. I found the deaths in CADI and requested the FHL films for the dates in question, and they definitely appear to be scans of the State death certificates that would be at the courthouse, but the records I'm looking for aren't there. I was preparing to write to the courthouse for copies, but before I throw away that much money, does anyone know whether it's more likely records are missing from the courthouse, or records were missed during scanning? If it didn't take the State so long, I'd just write to them directly, but... Thanks for any advice, Linda Seattle dnlsmoore@earthlink.net
