    3. Jay O'Connell, author of the recent book about the Kaweah Colony, "Co-Operative Dreams" is also working on a new book regarding something or another about Sontag & Evans, and if I remember right, it's about Eva. If the researcher is in the San Joaquin Valley, there are books at the library, and the card catalog can be searched online at ValleyCat, which shows which books are at which library, and their status. http://www.sjvls.lib.ca.us/webpacj/valleycat.html Two important ones listed at the library, "Prodigal Sons; the adventures of Christopher Evans and John Sontag" by Wallace Smith -- who was a professor at Fresno State and an excellent researcher in his own right and a microfilm of Eva Evans, "An Outlaw and His Family" There's likely to be more information in Tulare County about this than Fresno county -- there's lots of what have become folk legends about Sontag & Evans there. -deb
