We can trace our line from NJ to PA in 1792 to Illinois, MO, TX and CA and the two separate families of Samuel Applegate. Our earliest Applegate in CA was Samuel F Applegate and Mary E Martin who arrived in CA circa 1889, their 3rd child was born in Tulare County in 1889. The majority of the research on the Applegate family was compiled by Cousin Ladell. Her years of painstaking work has drawn several branches of our Applegate family together.
