Hi list. I would appreciate some help in seeking death info on: Flora FELKER dod: 18 Oct 1921 [from CADI] in Fresno Co, CA age: 56, so born c.1865 no spouse listed There is no FELKER in Fresno Co/1920, and she doesn't appear in the 1920 census index, so is possibly mar'd or the daughter. I would like to know if there's any death notice to see if she was married, or the daughter of a FELKER. Thanks so much for any help, Nancy Ontario, Canada all messages are scanned with Norton AntiVirus 2004

Hello List, I would like to say Thank you Nancy and Sandra for their help and advice about Alice Turner being shown twice on the census. It never occurred to me that the census was taken on different days! I just presumed it was all taken on the same day like here in England. Best wishes Heather
Hello listers, Please forgive me if I am posting incorrectly... I found a relative in the CADI. The death location is listed as Los Angeles (70) I can't seem to find the place where I can determine what the (70) indicates. Would appreciate a pointer to that information. Thanks, JB Wilson :-)

Surnames: BALLANTYNE, VAN WYHE, SMITH Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/GW.2ADE/1686.1.1 Message Board Post: Thank you very much! I knew of the database for deaths from 1940 - 1997, but I did not know of this earlier database. I looked, and the only Alexander Ballantyne listed died in 1910 at the age of 65 (which isn't my Alexander). This IS helpful, though, because it means that he probably died in Pennsylvania where one of his daughter's lived.
Check the date the two census records were written - I would bet that Alice was visiting Mr. & Mrs. Jacobs at one time period and living in her home at the other time period so was counted twice even though there is only one of her. <G> Happened a lot in the old days, especially since the census take was paid by the 'head' so to speak. Any names he/she could gather meant more revenue for them. I know in my husband's line the same family was counted twice in one census year by the same recorder. The census taker either was a little absentminded or feathering their nest. We need help in trying to find out about freight companies operating between Mariposa (Indian Gulch/Hornitos) and Fresno between 1860-1969. Hi List, Having now found more info from the 1900 US census on my BUDGE family I now know that Henry BUDGE and Alice (nee SKAGGS) had at least seven children and not only two as I thought - Jennie and Edward.. And I believe ( with the most appreciated help form Sandra ) that Jennie (later as Jean Jacobs) married ? JACOBS, and I also know that Edward married Alice (nee HALL) possibly around 1907 - 1909. I do have Edward and Alice's dates of birth and death, but no marriage details. I have also found William on the 1920 & 1930 as living with his wife GLADYS ? I have not be able to find any of the below except for on the 1900 census. I would love to find any more information or a connection with any of these other names of the Budge family children below that I found on the 1900 US census: ALLEN - c1880 FRED = c1882 PRISCILLA - c1884 - maybe she married before the 1900 census? WILLIAM - c1886 MILTON - c1887 On an obituary details for Edward ,that Sandra give me it also mentions a sister "J C EDWARDS", so there might be another child born after Milton? Any help would be truly appreciated, no matter how small. Best wishes Heather

Her maiden name was Garah B. Conn, b. 4 Sep. 1868 in Illinois. She was listed in the 1910 Fresno Co. census (3rd or 13th Township) as Grace B. Hunter, living with her daughter Verna McConnell. Verna later married a Hartig and moved to Liberty Lake, WA. Garah/Grace died on 10 Jan. 1915 and her body was returned to her parents in Iowa. I would like an obit and or a death record for her. Also a marriage record for her daughter. Garah was several times married, so her surname could have been different again by the time she died. Thank you very much.
