Also for, Robert Douglas Conner who died Nov 29, 1981. Robert was shot and killed at a pool hall, when someone tried to rob the pool hall. (Should be a newspaper article). I would like to find out if they caught who killed him and where this happened. All died in Fresno and I believe they were buried in Fresno also. Cemetery name where they are buried would help. Thank you.

Hello , I am new to this list, I live in B.C. Canada and My great great grnadfather Silas H. Pratt native of Nova Scotia died in Fresno 26 Oct 1929 and is buried at Mt. View Cemetery. I have his death certificate and obit , also his marriage certificate from his first marriage to Lydia Dodge 16 Jul 1867 in New Minas, King's County, Nova Scotia. Lydia Dodge died in Everett., Massachusettes in 1910 and Silas remarried. I can find no marriage date for him and his new wife Ella, who is listed on the death certificate. They would have been married between the 1910 US census and unfortunatly he died just before the 1930 census. Also his obituary says he was survived by his sister Letticia ( Lettie ) who lived in Los Angeles and his daughter Minnie May who was married three times. 1st to John Cameron MacPhee, 2nd to Cash Watson ( this surname was listed in the obit )and Thomas F. MacHale ( name shown in her will ). Any information for any of these family members would be mosy appreciated....Thank you.....Lynda Pollitt nee MacIntosh

I am the state contact for the CAGenExchange, and the mail list administrator. I have watched as our mail list has grown, and I am excited to see the number of folks joining our ranks. Please feel free to look through the entire site and, if you live in CA, or have access to information for CA, we could sure use your help. When you are researching a certain county and there is no coordinator, we would love to have you contact us with information from your local phone books or other sources available to you in your area. My commitment is that this GenExchange Project be one of the top projects on the web. It is entirely dedicated to free raw data and is here for you to use and explore. Living in any of the counties and having access to a local phone book, even for just one city, can make the difference in someone's research somewhere in the world. Please know that you can never be sure what you might contribute that might make a brick wall crumble for someone. It's amazing what a little generosity can do for others. We need the addresses of local cemeteries, funeral homes, libraries and archives (including university archives), museums, genealogical associations, historical associations and societies, churches in your communities, historians, courthouses, monuments and other historical sites, newspapers, schools, etc. If you would like to adopt a county for which you have access to records and raw data, I would be happy to send you the County Coordinators guidelines. If not, know that you can become an invaluable assistant to the project by entering information from your local phonebook or records you may have. Please help me help you in your research endeavors and let's join together to create an outstanding project for others to do their research. Any comments and contributions will be graciously accepted. I used to live in that vacinity and the surnames Wilson and Rolfe are very popular there. If you go to the Hants County Genweb site, there is at least 1 family tree under the links that has loads of Wilsons from that area (it may say that they were born or from Newport, but that can include that area as well). You may find out more on that site.
