I am looking to see if someone can find an obit for Albert Fields born in Washington DC and died in Fresno on December 11, 2000. I can find no record other than the social security death index. Since he was a friend and no relative it is hard to get copies of death certificates and I don't know if the certificate was filed there in California or back in Maryland where he used to live. Thank you for any info you can supply. I just want to know the cause of death and where he was buried.
I have Marcella's obit - Dec 9 1975 But nothing on LUDASI need your address to mail Marcella's to you. Sandra
The only paper available for that time period is Fresno Weekly Expositor- BUT you are so lucky, there is a lengthly article on him in the April 2 edition which gives a nice bio on him and his life. Need your address to mail to you. It doesn't mention name of wife but I believe this census record from 1880 is his family. Salina Ball died on Feb 19 1934 in Madera at age 58 spouse initials L L. I searched the Madera Tribune with no luck -- looked like that paper didn't report deaths, at least I didn't see any mentioned in that time frame when I went through the film. So I went to the Fresno Bee - plenty of deaths reported in that paper and BINGO- found her -- Salina Etta BALL who died in a Madera sanitairum. I could not seem to find a dod for Lorin, who I assume was her husband. I am not sure if he was still alive when she died since the obit just says she was the wife of L. L. BALL. No real indication that he is dead or still alive at that point. Lots of other family members listed, including some of her sisters' names. However, I checked the CADI online and found Lorin Lester BALL died Apr 17, 1954 and I checked the Fresno Bee for possible obit. This was a difficult time period to check since the Bee seemed to scatter the obituary notices and death announcements throughout the paper as well as placing them in defined areas like column headed Obituaries and Deaths. I went through twice with the idea I might have missed him, but I didn't seem to find anything. Checked Merced Sun-Star for Leonard "Pat" BALL in 1989 and found him under Obituaries on Sat Nov 11 1989. Copied that for you Nellie Barnett ESTEP 81 was in the Obituaries in Fresno Bee on May 27 1965. Copied that for you Check Modesto Bee for Walter BALL in 1998 -- There was a Loyd A Ball (Aug 2 1928 to Sep 17 1998), wife Ida BALL - but I don't believe that fit the profile. I went a little further than I usually do and BINGO-found him in the Sept 22 issue. Copied that for you Checked Nov 19, 1953 issue of Mariposa Gazette and Mariposa Miner, and there he was, on the front page. Copied that for you Checked May 30 1957 issue of Mariposa Gazette and the June 6th issue but not so lucky on Beatrice Griffith. Also tried Fresno Bee with same negative results. For WIMER - looked at Fresno Bee No luck for William in 1942 Checked both Obituaries and Funeral Services for William Earl Wimer in Fresno Bee. No luck Ditto of Jaqueline WIMER, nothing in Fresno Bee. Just because they were buried in Oakhill Cemetery doesn't necessarily mean there would be obituaries in the Frenso Bee. Need your address again to send the ones i was able to get.
