    1. [CAFresno] WWII Soldier from Fresno .....Bob Boucher Information ?????
    2. Rayene
    3. This is my first posting on your list. I was born and raised in Fresno, but have lived away since 1959. I have been searching for an older cousin, who may, or may not still be alive. His name was Robert J. Boucher and he was from Fresno. I have a childs' story book that has his name and a date in it. I don't know if it's his birthdate. It's Dec. 7, 1927. I really feel that he would be a little older. I think it was a 5th birthday gift and his name was put into it at that time. Below, you can see the information that I was sent from a list member of NORCAL, that she found in the California Birth Index. I feel it is the same Robt. J. Boucher. It shows him being born in Kern County. His father was Herbert Boucher, who worked at the downtown Fresno's Montogomery Wards for many years in the furniture department. BOUCHER ROBERT J 1922 12 07 PADDOCK MALE KERN I have contacted everyone in Fresno with the name Boucher and called around to various other numbers, but to no avail. I do know that after the war he married and I think they had two children, a boy and a girl. The last time I saw Bob Boucher was in 1955. He was employed at the Best Foods distributorship in Fresno at the corner of Belmont and Ferger. Below, you can see the names that I think may be his children. This also came from a list member of NORCAL. These children were born in Fresno. Beverly Jane BOUCHER b.2-19-1953 mothers last name:WOODS Gary Robert BOUCHER b.9-21-1948 mothers last name:WOODS I have so much information for our family, that I'd love to be able to share with his children, if he is no longer living. We were the only children in the immediate family of our generation and he was much older, so I never had a lot of contact with him. I just knew that he had really great red hair, that I noticed, even as a child. I also have a wonderful picture of him in his uniform of World War II, when he was in the Army Air Corps. I'd be so grateful for any information that you may be able to give me to reach this family. I just want to share some of the history of the Bouchers and Cullens, that I have been accumulating through the years of research. I'm sure it would be something that they would be very happy to have. Thanks so very much, Rayene Boucher Sperbeck San Diego, CA

Centennial picture book, the old Fresno Hotel in a photograph (!), The Dalton Gang, photos, an old Sequoia Redwoods book, and postcards of everything from the old county Orphanage and Fig Packing; to Zapp's Park and the Yosemite Fire Falls. JACKSON, DALTON ... are the only names specifically mentioned that I could spot. http://www.hellofresno.com/history/UpForAuction_Fresno_7April2002.html Have a good time looking them over and remember to practice safe auctioning. :) -deb

    1. [CAFresno] pre-1905 weekly update
    2. Hi all; Time for the weekly update. No, you will not notice any changes on the website yet, but they are coming and major ones when they do. As soon as Steve and Aaron get all the work done and it all uploaded which could be anyday now, you will see the following additions: Sources for all the counties which have been completed. The following new areas for lookup: Parts of Amador County Parts of Del Norte County Parts of Humboldt County Kern County Lake County More in Los Angeles County Modoc County Parts of Nevada County Placer County The Rest of San Bernardino County More San Francisco County San Luis Obispo County Parts of Santa Barbara County Sutter County Parts of Tehama County And possibly even more. We are getting a lot done, but with all the problems that we have been having on the website, we are on a holding pattern for your lookups so that we can get everything solved and online. Other Counties currently in the transcription phase are: Alameda County Parts of Fresno County Klamath County Monterey County Orange County Parts of Plumas County Santa Cruz County Shasta County Parts of Sierra County Tulare County And more of Los Angeles, San Francisco, Butte, etc. We now have over 130 transcribers on this project and will soon be breaking into the marriage and birth records for transcription. We are in the process of designing the templates for those now. Please be patient and soon I will be announcing that all the changes are complete and the site has all the updates. In the meantime, we are continuing with the transcription of several counties and are rapidly acquiring more records to be transcribed, thanks to all those that have contributed to the project to help acquire the copies of these records. Donations for the project can be made out to me and sent to me at the address below. One more time, I am going to ask that you NOT request lookups during the transcription phase of this project. We keep getting requests and there is no way that we can comply. It will not be that long till all these are online and available for you to search. PLEASE BE PATIENT. Thank you for your understanding. Not much more to say right now. I ran away for a couple days to recollect my sanity and for some R + R so I can get back into this with more enthusiasm. (Sorry guys, but if you had my job, you would definitely understand the necessity for that). If you have any questions regarding the project, or suggestions or ideas, feel free to contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can. Till next week..... I am also interested in more information about their parents too, if you have any. I don't know Jarvis STREETER's death date yet and am sure he probably died in Fresno. Thanks for any help. Susan
