Friends of mine asked me to find out more about a distant relative of theirs by the name of Paul Schwarz. I already turned for help to NORCAL but they couldn't find the right person in the CADI. Therefore it's possible that he didn't die in California, but he definitely lived at some point in time in Auburn, Placer and Placerville, El-Dorado. Unfortunately I don't know when. Anyway I'd be most grateful, if somebody could help me with my research. (I might help you as well, if you need ranslations of German documents into English, that is.) I've got the following information on the person that I'm looking for: Name: First Middle Last Paul Eugen Schwarz Date of Birth: July 24, 1852 in Danzig/Germany Date of Death: unknown (he died sometime between 1926-29) Marital Status: divorced (name of wife unknown) Place of Death: unknown Other information: He might changed his name to Black (=English for Schwarz) or Schwartz. Also his name might be found in the mining records, since he is said to have owned a smaller mine.
