Hello, Thanks to everyone who has emailed Assemblymember Bill Campbell since I first sent out my email about this Bill. I received an email message from Assemblymember Campbell asking that I call his office. They are drafting amendment language that will provide that the bill will be prospective and will only apply to persons who die after January 1, 2001 and who made no provision for the disposition or future use of the family plots purchased in the deceased's name. The plot will then devise to the heirs of the deceased for their further use or disposition. The historic family plots will not be affected and cannot devise to any other party than the original plot purchasers. Thanks again to everyone who wrote.
