They resided in El Dorado County, CA during the 1940s. Tipton was killed in a car accident "on Highway 50 above Merrymans" on January 15, 1945. He is buried in Union Cemetery in Placerville, CA. I would like to hear from anyone who has ties to this family - Tipton Oscar Mercer apparently originated in Florida and moved to California in the mid 1930s or so.
