Dear List, Can someone tell me whether Eldorado County has marriage records for 1884? In that year, according to the 1900 census, John B. Giannini (perhaps then still going by Giovanni Bautista Giannini) married Julia Catto of Eldorado County (Julia's location from family records.) Both families were Italian Swiss, although Julia was born in CA. By 1885, John and Julia were settled in San Francisco, where John was a cook or chef at various restaurants. In 1901, John died, and the funeral notice in the SF Examiner of 20 May 1901 ended with the request (Placerville papers please copy.) I am curious to know whether the Placerville papers did copy, and whether they may have added any information about the relatives in Placerville. Rick Sherman Kensington, CA
