I'd like to share with you a new mailing list CA-DEATH-INDEX-L@rootsweb.com and CA-DEATH-INDEX-D@rootsweb.com (digest) especially for archiving CADI lookups so that only one list has to be searched to find previously identified CADI information. If you're already on the rootsweb.com mailing list you know the subscribe procedures (I'll include them at the end of the message for those that can't remember) So.... If you are a volunteer that does CADI lookups I would like to invite you to subscribe and provide assistance to others that are looking for CADI information. If you currently post the data found to a county list or a regional list, just add this list to your address book and post your results here also to make searching easier Or If you are looking for CADI information, this is the list to ask for help. Or If you have had CADI information provided to you in the past and would like to have it posted to the list so that others can find it in the archives, you're welcome to post those previous lookups also. I would like to see CA death transcriptions shared here also...... So if you are one of those volunteers that visits recorder's offices on a regular basis and does death certificate transcriptions, please share your information here. Or if you have death certificates in your possession and would like to share, please post them also..... With the advent of all the CA county lists it has become increasingly difficult to search the archives for all the previous CADI listings that have been provided between NORCAL, SOCAL, CAROOTS, etc. So, if you do either sort of lookup, CADI or death certificate transcriptions, please subscribe and share. It's really easy to just put the address in your address book and remember to add it to the message when you do your regular post to NORCAL, SOCAL, CAROOTS or your county list. To unsubscribe, you should send the command "unsubscribe" to CA-DEATH-INDEX-L-request@rootsweb.com (if in mail mode) or CA-DEATH-INDEX-D-request@rootsweb.com (if in digest mode.) To switch from one mode to the other, you should unsubscribe from one and then subscribe to the other. There is no "no mail" mode -- if you want messages to stop, you should simply unsubscribe.
