This web site http://www.interment.net has a list of cemetery lists. It breaks down by country, and, for the US, state and county. Many of the county resources are on the US GenWeb county sites. Some of them - Monroe County, NY, for instance - have a search engine at the county level. I found these CADY ancestors in Monroe. They are not mine, but they may be someone's. They need to know why you are interested, the name of your ancestor, and the date of death. They won't send you the name or address of living people who buried their loved ones, for privacy. I send a SASE and $5 to $10, depending on how many people I'm asking about, to cover copying and postage costs. I usually ask them to donate the balance to the GAR veterans' flower fund. Any of the web-based telephone books will give you the mailing address of cemeteries that are still in business.
