    3. Hi Cousins Last night I was reading the Oct/Nov. 1993 issue of the "Great Migration Newsletter" available by subscription through the New England GS. This is what it says: "Clifford L. Stott, "English Origins of William and Judith (Tue) Knopp of Watertown , Massachusetts," New England Historical and Geneological Register 147 (1993):313-28. The origin in Bures St. Mary, Suffolk, of William Knopp of Watertwon, and of Thomas Philbrick who married Elizabeth Knopp, has been available in the genealogical literature for decades. Stott has identified the parents and wife of William Knopp, and has found baptisms for all the know children of this couple. Furthermore, the author has disentangled two contemporary William Knopps of Bures St. Mary, and has shown that the William Knopp who was brother-in-law of Thomas Philbrick was not the immigrant to Watertown, although there may have been a more distant relation. Finally, Stott found nothing to support the oft-stated claim of close kinship between William Knopp and Nicholas Knapp of Watertown." My question??? Jim Cady's book refers to them as "Knapp" (Judith Knapp married Nicholas Cady) In one story I have on the family they are referred to as "Knop" and now we see Knopp. I know names changed - does anyone know FOR SURE the birth names? Question #2. Does anyone have that NEGS article? Caryn (Cady) Johnson Virginia Beach
