    1. [CADY-L] P.P. Cady & children
    2. It has been a while since I posted our line, and I'm sure there are new list members, so here goes: Nicholas>Joseph>Benjamin>John>Calvin>Perley Philip (P. P.) I have more info on this family after PP than does Jim Cady's book, and I would like to find someone else who knows more about this family line. PP married Olive BRADFORD PRESCOTT 11 Oct. 1848. PP d 21 Nov 1888. They are buried in the Hubbard city cemetary (Hardin Co., IA), with what is apparantly a replacement stone. PP's name was put down as "Preston" which, of course, is not correct. Children and what I know of them: 1. Ella M. b 7 May 1853, m 30 Aug 1873 to Matt. WING, a minister from Union IA. Rev. Wing officiated at wedding of some siblings. Children Ezra Pearl (private, Co. B, 3rd US Infantry, Phillippine Islands), Avah Mabel (born in Pawnee City NE, m Andrew MILLER, lawyer at Forest City, IA, 4 children: Max, Milo, Kenneth, Eleanor) 2. James F., b. 11 July 1855, d. 23 Feb. 1885, young lawyer. Buried with parents. Never married. 3. Jeremiah Judson b 15 July 1857, m. 19 Sept 1879 to Anna HARLAN. They apparantly took the Oregon Trail. Had 9 children: Charles M., Roy B., Frank R., Ralph H., Mabel B., Milo C., Harry P., Allen H., and Ella A. This line has entries in Jim's book contributed by one Hazel Cady. A letter to her came back unopened and marked "deceased." 4. Jessie A. b 11 Oct 1859, m John POLK HAZARD 27 Nov 1885, Tipton Grove, Hardin Co., Iowa, lived in Lawn, Box Butte Co., NE; divorced 1901; m. Arby MEALMAN, (date?), lived in Anadarka, OK. 3 children: Mabel Olivia (where did she go?); Maude Isma (m. J.D. BLAKE, 3 children still living in ND); Clarence (m. Albia FOX [FUCHS] of Iowa City, was a pharmacist and had own drug store in Bettendorf IA, lived in Davenport, had one son--my husband and father of our two children) 5. Frank Prescott b. 7 May 1863, m. Luella BROOKINGS 14 Feb. 1888, Box Butte Co., NE, land patent filed 12 Oct 1891 Lawn, NE. First 3 children died in 1893, within a few days of one another (Thank you for our modern childhood "shots"!!) Two surviving children as of 1899 (date of my source, a family supplement to the Prescott Genealogy), Loran C. and Grace Olivia. Frank had a public scales business in Hubbard IA. Took care of nephew Clarence so boy could go to good high school. Suffered a financial setback and "went to Missouri where he died." Surely there must be someone somewhere who is related to this line besides us. If we could find out more about the Cady side, we might get some needed clues to the Polk-Hazard connection. :-) Betty, Listkeeper Hazard Mailing List, RootsWeb.com Researching Bruna, Cady, Dobkowski (Dob), Fox (Fuchs), Gregonis (Greygonis, Graygonis, Grygonu), Hazard, Kawecki, Perlinski, Polk, Prescott, Von Derlick
