seeking the ancestry of Sally Cady b. 1800/01 at Providence,RI ( 1880 Census daughter says mother b. RI father born Ireland). Sally Cady m. 1820 May to Alex McFarland at Providence. Mr. McFarland was of the Scotch-Irish ilk. During the 1830-40 's it seems the McFarlands went to Ohio but returned by the late 1840's as Sarah d. 1849 - no parents listed. Alex d. 1876 at Providence. 3 children known: Alex McFarland jr. d. at sea (mariner) John McFarland(living 1850 w/ father) at Attleboro. Sarah McFarland m. Elijah Caswell Sally Cady is perhaps the daughter of (Shubail Cady and Anna/Nancy Earle) or (Zebulon Cady and Sally Freeman) - both of Providence. I had thought that Zebulon might be the father since his wife is also named Sally as well but he removes to Connecticut before 1820 - so why leave a 19 year old daughter in Providence ???? Not sure about Shubail or Anna Earle. he isnt in providence in 1810 so far as I can see. any help much appreciated. John Scott New Windsor,Md.
