Does anyone know who this is? Check out the following URL: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bellywash/html/ This is a daguerreotype of Mother Cady at 75 that Malcom Haner bought at an auction. The following is what he wrote about it when I sent him a note asking who it was. The only information I have on it is that there is a piece of paper inside the case with "Mother Cady at 75" written in ink (old),she was a ministers wife, and the picture came from a lady's estate sale (family member) in Genesco, Livingston Co., New York. The photo is just as you see it although I have cleaned up some of the spots of dust and specks on the glass digitally. The glass is original and the seals are intact and the leather and wood case is in pritty good condition considering it's 150 years old. Photographer is not identified. After I got it I searched all over the internet and found quite a bit of information about the New England Cady surname but wasn't able to contact anyone with information about this woman. I am a photo history nut as well as addicted to genealogy. My case is hopeless!!! I have no connection to the surname Cady.
