    1. [CADY-L] Charles Cady
    2. Mary Elizabeth Cady
    3. Hello, I am researching the family of Charles Cady, who is found below in the 1910 Ripley County, Indiana census as being 38 years old. Per the 1900 census, his first wife was May (maiden name unknown). Second wife was Maggie Hill. Both Charles and Maggie supposedly died at a young age. Obviously, I have just begun researching them so any clues would be helpful. I have listed all Cady families in the Ottercreek area in the 1910 census below. Thanks! According to the Jim Cady book, p. 5170, Calvin Cady (5th generation) was born 27 Apr 1771 and m. 14 Nov 1816 in Plattsburg, NY. +++++++ In case some of you Cady-ites don't know about Jim Cady >JCady4100@aol.com< he revised and updated Allen's _Cady Genealogy_ which lists Nicholas Cady and his progeny. There's a ton of Cadys in there and you should at least look at the book, or maybe even buy one! Plus there's also a supplement available. >From earlier correspondence with Jim I know that people have sent him information that was not available when he published his book and a supplement was completed. I would imagine even more info has come to him -- I know I sent him info on our family since there was no record of it in print. Betty

I know there was a Cady that also run and maybe owned a hotel in Dundee at one time.I know of at least two sons he had that grew up in Dundee. One became a DR. and I believe his name was Martin Cady and the other was Emmett Cady. They later moved to NYC or near by. They were up here in the area of Schyuler Co. which borders County of Yates where Dundee,NY is and possibly visiting relatives and was in a car accident at the entrance of Watkins Glen in 1934 abt.I don't have the paper in front of me to give you all the details.I could look it up later if you want.Emmett died at the near by hospital in Schyuler CO.from the car accident. A man by the name of Smith was in the car with them.Does any of this sound like your family line. I've just begun to research my Cady line, and this is who I've been able to find so far: Martin Ezra Cady born 24 Nov 1852 in Wisconsin. He married Arvilla Jester Dec 1885 in Fillmore Co. MN I believe he is the son of Haziel Cady and Lusella Russell whom were born in either New York or CT. Haziel was born abt 1809 and Lusella abt 1811. Haziel was found in Starkey, Yates Co. NY in the 1835 state census. They later moved to Wisconsin and later still to Minnesota. At this point I have not been able to find out who Haziel's parents were. I am hoping these folks might be familiar to someone Sue Cady

    3. Hello All , My part of the roll call. I am looking for information on THOMAS CADY. I don't have any information on Thomas Cady other then he married Adeila Fifield sometime before 1851 when their first child Edgar was born. The second child was Sarah b.1855 and the third child was b. 1858. I believe they were married and died in Oakland County ,Michigan. Adeila was b. abt 1834 which I assume Thomas was born prior to that . But then again that is what I am looking for. His information and his parents backward. I am hoping that soon one of his descendants or someone will read this and contact me .Thanks ,in advance for and responses to this inquiry. I can be reached at sfifield@sisna.com .Thanks again Steve.

I do not descend from this particular line, but have maintained the information to share with others. Any questions and/or corrections to this information that can be made [constructively], will be appreciated. As far as is known, there is no known connection to the early claims that William Knopp was the son of John Knopp and Martha (Bloise/Blosse) Knopp. These claims bear no supporting evidence for such connections! 3. To Shirley, sorry that I sent you that email to just you. I am not sure what happen. This is for the whole group. I am looking for a Homer Cady what was in a mental hospital in central Illinois. I know that he was related to my great-grandfather George (Deb) Cadie. George Cadie was born October 19, 1910 and died August 16, 1977. I am not sure when the spelling was changed. My great- grandfather had 6 children. Harold Cadie ( my grandfather), Thomas Cadie, James (Jimmy) Cadie, Gerald (Gerry) Cadie, Paul A Cadie (died early 1960), and Floyd Cadie. Any help would be great. Sara ICQ 6525208 AOL whispavery

    1. [CADY-L] Andrew Cady, Sallly Cummings
    2. Illyce MacDonald
    3. My name is Illyce Mac Donald and I have spent years researching my g- g-grandfather, Andrew Cady. He was born in Farmington, Tioga Co. PA in 1841. From research in census records etc. I am fairly certain that he is the grandson of Lemuel and Ruth (Gleason) Cady. I am unsure of his parents. Possibly Abner Cady or Chester Cady. I have been leaning towards Abner since Andrew homesteaded in Michigan like Abner, however the IGI has him as the son of Chester. Any way he served in the One Hundred and and Sixty-first, Sixteenth Cavalry, from PA. He saw much action and suffered various physical ailments the rest of his life according to pension records at the National Archives. He died tragically by his own hand in 1916 by cutting his own throat. My Mother's family never spoke of him or any one else for that matter. I am afraid there are many skeletons on this side of my family! Any way he married Sarah "Sally" Cummings on July 4 1866. I found her name in the pension records. They were married in Elkland, Tioga Co. PA and she was born in New York in April of 1849. Due to lack of time I have not spent any time researching Sarah. There are so many Cummings! I would love to be in touch with any one that might be able to give me a clue as to her ancestors. Andrew and Sarah did have two children Minerva and George. George married and had two children by his first wife. I do not have their names handy at this moment. I do know that George moved to Montana and remarried. I do not know if he had other children. I think it is possible. If I remember correctly he died in a fire in Montana. I would really need to check my files to remember details though so if anyone is looking for information on a George Sherman Cady born in PA, lived in Michigan and died in Montana let me know. Minerva married James Farley in Michigan and had five children. So that is my Cady line and problem. Who are Andrew's parents? Who are Sally's parents? 3. I am researching the family of SARAH H. CADY, born in Southbridge, Massachusetts, 24 March 1836. She married LUTION FAIRFIELD in February 1854, probably in New York State. Sarah's parents were given as AUGUST CADY and HELEN LYONS of Southbridge, but I cannot find any record of those names. Perhaps the names are "close but not quite." Sarah and Lution lived in South Pulteney, Steuben County, New York from 1855 to about 1865, when they emigrated with their four children, Charles, Frank, Louella (Lura) and Frances, to St. Clair County, Michigan, where they farmed, and lived out their years. Sarah died 26 February 1932, a celebrated pioneer, and is buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, East China Township. Sue St. Clair, Michigan Great-great granddaughter of Sarah Cady

    1. [CADY-L] My Cady line
    2. Greetings all! I am hoping these folks might be familiar to someone. Sue Cady

I know where he was born, where he lived from time to time (there are gaps), but I only know that, after 1912, " he went to Missouri where he died." (oral history). Who is Joseph? Anyone know?
