Hi, my name is Sam Cady from Syracuse, NY. I'm new to the list server and also new to geneology. I have traced my roots back to an A. Cady from Hamilton, NY born in 1801. Apparently his father was a Revolutionary War veteran from Connecticut, who received a land grant after the war. Unfortunately for me the trail stops there. Would anyone have any suggestions or information on how to proceed. Thanks in advance. Sam _______________________________________________________________ Get Free Email and Do More On The Web. This is a web page chock full of Cady family members I stumbled across. http://otc.isu.edu/~cady/genealogy/ It is plain text, not a link. The RootsWeb people ask us not to include links in mail to the groups. You will have to swipe it, select "Copy", then past it in the address line of your web browser to use it.

Hi everyone, I want to let you all know that I will be away from my computer for the next two weeks. My husband Ron will be monitoring my e-mail, so if anyone has a problem or question, send them to my address <suzyfrtz@tir.com> as usual. He has promised to attend to them. We are growing slowly but surely. Pass the word along! The more on our list, the better our chance of connecting those elusive Cadys! Take care, everyone, and good hunting! I have received two responses from descendants of Nicholas Cady, not from the immediate Cady family group, and have found that I may have erred in my earlier statement that (Rev) Samuel Cady & daughter, Sarah Parmelia Cady will eventually lead back to Nicholas Cady the immigrant. The follow- ing was sent to me which amends my earlier statement. My apologies! The descendants of (Rev) Samuel Cady & Sarah Permelia (Cady) Knapp may or may not go back to immigrant ancestor, Nicholas Cady. Rev. Samuel Cady (born 1780) at this time has parentage is unknown. Those most interested in the forthcoming book will probably be the descendants of Rev. Samuel CADY and his wife Sarah THOMAS, through their children: Jabez, Abner, Charles, Lovina Cady Rea, Mary Cady McMinds, Samuel Jr., Andrew P. "Doc" Cady, and Sarah P. Cady Knapp. If anyone can post anything that might otherwise prove the ancestry of )Rev) Samuel Cady I would like to have that information. Fritz

Here is the address: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl This will take you to the "Archive Search Site." Enter "Cady" in the box. Then, unless you want to see all the old messages, you should use a qualifier such as "Nicholas Cady." Hello, I received the death certificate for my ggrandmother. Her name Edna M Cady, b. 4-9-1899,South Side, Pittsburgh, PA. Her father Edward Cady m. Alice Butler. Does anyone have any connection?
Just received word of a new book to be published mid-summer 1999, entitled "Kinfolk of Adin Williams Knapp & Sarah Parmelia Cady". II do not have full particulars on this book but if your interested. e-mail Jean Perney at: <jwperney@prodigy.net> Believe it will include the Cady ancestry back to the earliest known Cady Ancestor, Nicholas Cady. I am a college student doing a research project on an invention. The name of the inventor was Reymond Davis Cady he was the chief chemist for the Diamond Match Company in the 1940's. If you have any information on him, I'd greatly appreciate it. I am really kind of digging deep here to find out more about this man and his invention, the companies records have a lot to be desired, so I have resorted to name searches to try and find some relatives of his. If you would happen to know where I may find out more information on him I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for your time Justin Geiman University of Maryland

Louise, In reference to Curtis Cady Tioga History Book The first school in Brookfield was taught by Asa Bushnell in 1817, and was held in Curtis Cady's house. The first children were born here were twin daughters of Curtis Cady and wife. The members of this family were kind and obliging but they did not gain much of a place in the township, and when they left they were soon forgotten. What I found also mentions the name Seeley quite often that you said goes with this family.I will keep looking to see if I can find Ann Seeley. Religious Enterprises Methodist Ep. Churches The first members were Hannah, Joseph,Deborah,Joseph, and Curtis Cady among other family names. Brookfield Bedford George, Titus Ives,Elihu Hill and Curtis Cady were the first to build log houses, which were the only dwellings built for many years.Ives put up the first framed house in the township on Troup's creek where the North road connects with the Troups creek road.Godfrey Bowman built the next.-- well known til this day as the Godfrey Bowman house. I thought you would want this info. Shirley Cleveland Dundee, NY
Most wanted ancestor: Charles L. Cady: b. 1791, MA. d. probably before 1870, in Iowa- - maybe Van Buren, Madison, or Warren Co. How would I go about getting a death record or obituary? Charles L. Cady (b. MA) was living on the next farm over from Henry Cady (b. NY) in 1860, in Washington Twp, Van Buren Co., Iowa. Family members were: Sarah - age 43 (second wife?) b. PA Margaret J. - age 16 b. PA Ellen Mariah - age 13 b. PA David - age 10. b. PA Daughter Deborah Cady (married?) about 22 years old (b. NY) might be in the vicinity, but not listed on census. By 1870, Charles Cady's family is no longer near Henry's. David Cady would have been 20. Henry Cady is assumed to be the son of Charles L. Cady and his first wife. He was in Van Buren Co., IA by 1855. He is found on censuses in Washington Twp. in 1860, and in Palmyra Twp. in 1870. He served in the Iowa infantry, Co. A, 39th regiment from 1862 to the end of the war. Henry's wife was Mary Etta McCoy Cady, and his children were: Sarah (Butterfield) b. 4 May 1855, Vernon, Van Buren Co., IA Alice (Rogers) b. 17 Sep 1857, IA William Lincoln Cady b. 20 May 1860, IA John Otto Cady b. 6 Apr 1866, Madison Co., IA Ullyses S.
