The 1870 Census for Contra Costa County may list their father Lyman J. Fenn b. 1829 NY - it seems that there is no index for that county. The Fenns lived very near Lake Merritt. I am eager to know where his parents where born. The 1870 census singularly may reveal this. Has anyone any familiarity with this census for Oakland? If so, I'd appreciate knowing the ward number(s) covering this area. Thankyou.
