    1. Re: [CAContraCosta] Fw: Senate Bill 1614 - OPPOSE
    2. Hello, To those of you eligible to vote in California I certainly hope this bill does not go on record. I was born in Sacramento and during WWII the family moved to the Bay Area (SF) where I lived until my marriage in 1957. I returned to California with my family twice in the past when my husband's job took us "home". My mother's family came to California in (maternal side my great great grandmother came in the 1850s where my great grandmother was born in 1855 in Trinity Co.) and her (paternal grandfather and his parents to Shasta Co in 1880). My only brother is still a California resident and except for a year or so of his Air Force days is and will always be a California resident. So you can see a large part of Me is in California and I feel as a non-resident these records must be kept available to non-residents with a California back ground. Even my children who were born in Washington State and Massachusetts should have access to records to prove there Heritage and lineage. Criminals will find a way to be criminals and the innocent will always be victims. Why should those of us retired and not retired who want to find or prove Our Families have to pay and be victims before a crime. If there is anyone on the list compiling a list of non-residents opposed because of strong family ties to the Great State of California let me know.
