Hello Listers. I have researching Peek a Boo Kiddie Park, that was at the intersection of San Pablo Dam Rd and San Pablo Ave. What I hope to find out when the park ended its busines. I recall my grandmother telling me, when I was sophmore or Jr that vandals got into the park, let the pnies run and were killed, on the road. the man couldnt make a profit.. I would like to know if anyone remember a article that may have rran in the Richmond Independent about the closure to the little park. I am 51 but remember the park well, my grandmother took my brother and i there, I last saw it in my memory about 1967 or 1968, Does anyone have any memories of the park or who owned it,. I believe the park was located , on the south parking lot of the Moosse lodge, now. Thanks for any ones memories. Melodee Slaney melnsam123@aol.com
Hello. I am writing to the list again about where to obtain obits. I didn't get any response at all last time I asked, so I'm hoping that everyone just missed the email. I am looking for information on where to write/call/email to get obits for 3 or 4 people that died in Contra Costa County, most likely in the Martinez and Walnut Creek area. Circa 1950-1980. Any ideas? Please answer me this time. I am in DC and just can't come to CA to do research. Dawn If someone would want to do an exchange of services, I would be up for that. I do have the national archives very near to me.
Today I rec'd a Cert of Death for my great aunt, Hannah EDWARDS, and I'm hoping the additional info will shake loose some leads so I can track down her descendants. If you have any suggestions as to how to proceed, I'd be most appreciative. Hannah EDWARDS (widow of Robert EDWARDS) was born in Wales 1875 & died @ Contra Costa County Hospital Mar 1858. Her last usual residence was Hampton Rd, Lafayette, Contra Costa, CA. The name of the Funeral Director was Pittsburg Funeral Chapel and the name of the Cemetery was Memory Gardens. The informant for the death cert was a Ray WILLIAMSON. I suppose this could have been a husband of a child or grandchild. I want so much to make contact with the descendants of Hannah EDWARDS as these would be "cousins" most of us "back East" have never met. Thanks for any & all help. I am doing family history and would like to share what I have learned about their father with them and learn information from them as well. There is a possibility that one of them married a Rossini. Any information would be appreciated.
