FROM THE "Daily Gazette, Martinez, Cal. Tuesday April 27, 1920" FUNERAL FOR REV. M'RAE IS HELD TUESDAY Danville, April 27 -- The last sad rites over the remains of the late Rev. Duncan McRae, for the past year pastor of the Presbyterian Church, were held from the church parlors this morning at ten o'clock following which the remains were shipped to Los Angeles for interment. Rev. McDonald officiated at the services. Rev McRae had been a resident of this place for the past year and during that time had acquired the friendship of a host of people throughout the entire valley. He was 62 years of age and a native of Canada. Several months ago he went east to undergo an operation but failed to recover. The deceased is survived by his wife and two daughters. Mrs. H. A. D. A. MacRae, BA The Rev. D. A. MacRae was born in Glengarry, Ont, in the year 1859. He was educated at McGill University, Montreal from which institution he graduated about 1882. His theological course was taken in the Presbyterian College, Montreal, where he graduated about 1885. After graduating, he responded to the call of the West and bacame pastor in St. Andre's Church, Nanaimo, British Columbia . During his successful pastorate in that city he was also convener of the Home Mission Commiteee of the Presbytery of Victoria British Columbia . Leaving Nanaimo British Columbia , he spent a few years in Dawson City, Yukon Territory. He return to Vancouver British Columbia where he organized St. Paul's and Westminister Churches, afterward being called to Cloverdale, British Columbia . having successful pastorate in each of these places. Two years ago he retired to California and died at his home there in Danville, on the 25th of April, 1920. Mr. MacRae was an authority on social and labor problems and took an active interest in the industrial situation in British Columbia. Born Sept. 16, 1991, in Richmond, Victor was the son of Linda D. James and the late Victor Allen Porter Sr. He had been a Dunnigan resident for the past eight years. He attended Arbuckle Elementary School and would have entered the sixth grade in the fall. He played Little League Baseball. He was a member of Arbuckle School band and played the trumpet. Victor is survived by his mother, Linda James of Oakland; sisters, Victoria Porter and Tanisha Porter, both of Dunnigan, Lashona Ingraham, and Terisha Johnson, both of Oakland; brothers, Michael Porter of Dunnigan, William McCoy and Kenneth Lewis, both of Oakland; paternal grandparents, Geraldine Johnson and husband Eddie of Dunnigan; and numerous aunts; uncles; cousins and friends. Visitation is scheduled from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 29, at McNary's Chapel, 458 College St., Woodland, with funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. in Greater Second Baptist Church, Woodland.
