I do not know the county or counties these records would be in. Only that they took place in the state of California. I'm only asking for the dates & county of the records so that I might send off for the records. There should have been at least two marriages. The brides names are unknown. The groom's name would be Posey H. Jacobs. I'll be leaving this message on all the county board's of California on Ancestry.com. If someone can help in the county they live in, please email me privately at: azlilowl@hotmail.com. In case you are wondering, I do have every legal right to request these documents. I'll explain when I reply to your private email. Thank you, TJ

Brewen or Annie Brewen as she evidently referred to herself, yes, she was or would have been my great grandmother Cook. She married an Ancel Cook in 1873 in Contra Costa, California. In turn they had several children, the last which was my mother's dad and consequently my grandfather. Although he passed away not to far distant where my mother and I were living at the time of his death, neither my mother nor I had ever known him. Which is really pretty sad, when you get right down to it. Just another one of those living by the stories that former wives and or husbands tell o9f their marriage partners. She died in Union County, Oregon in 1934 or 35. I am still running this to ground. I have kept your email address and will follow up on this if you would like as I believe by the way I interpret your letter that we, too, are re3lated, and this being the case, there is still another, though he lives in California, and another on top! of this that has pursued hte Brewen name for quite some time. Please do let me know. Always and with undying respect, Jon Shumaker

I seem to have confused some people. Please read this... Lakeside Cemetery, aka Lakeside Memorial Lawn Cemetery, is located in Folsom, Sacramento County. I would like to hear from ANYONE who has family buried in this cemetery that were buried between 1850 and 1939. I especially would like to hear from people who CANNOT FIND THEIR FAMILY'S GRAVES ANYMORE. If you have "lost" a grave of someone buried at Lakeside Cemetery in Folsom, please contact me off list. This cemetery was also known as the Folsom City Cemetery, the Citizen's Cemetery, and the "City Cemetery." A part of the "Citizen's Cemetery" was also called the "COOK'S CEMETERY" and later the "AMERICAN LEGION CEMETERY." Contained within Lakeside is also the historic JEWISH CEMETERY (est. 1861), the original MASONIC CEMETERY (Est. 1862), the IOOF CEMETERY (Est. 1862) and the NEW MASONIC CEMETERY (Est. 1924). If any of this sounds familiar, and you have family buried in what once was the PUBLIC CEMETERY at Folsom and you haven't been able to find the graves, please contact me. Joan You want to post this the Alameda List, for Oakland, has been Alameda County, since Alameda County started in 1853. ;-) Also I think that date is to early for Oakland B.C. George "Joan T. Sullivan" wrote: In search of place of birth of the grandparents of Lyman J. Fenn, born in Oakland 9 Sept. 1871. The 1870 Census for Contra Costa County may list their father Lyman J. Fenn b. 1829 NY - it seems that there is no index for that county. The Fenns lived very near Lake Merritt. I am eager to know where his parents where born. The 1870 census singularly may reveal this. Has anyone any familiarity with this census for Oakland? If so, I'd appreciate knowing the ward number(s) covering this area. Thankyou.
