I have an Obit listing for James T. BROWN died 5 May 1870. This appeared in the Sacramento Bee 10 May 1870 edition "In Jackson, May 5, James T. Brown." I am trying to find where and when my 2nd GGFather James BROWN died. He was born in 1816 married to Kizziah PETERSON 24 July 1838 in Charleston, Coles, IL ,. They moved to CA in 1852 and lived around the Stockton area. 1870 census Kizziah is list with the children. 1880 Kizziah is listed as widow with some of the children. So I thought maybe James went to Jackson, Calaveras, CA from Stockton and died there. What is the earliest death record for Calaveras County as well as Cemetery records? Thank You, Carol
