Hi Listers: Our list will be on the archived list, which means that you can go back and check the archives to see any old messages. It would mean that anyone doing a search would be able to find our emails and connect to us. If possible, please write to the list, rather then an individual, that way our messages will be archived. If the message is not important to you, please use the delete key. Here is the address, but there are no messagaes, yet. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/CABLE-L/ I will repost a few messages so they are saved on the list. Thank you, Rosemary

Some of you I have corresponded with before and probably I haven't. I have some questions about the earlier Cables - there were a couple things published on the Cable family: A Histoyr of the Cable Family (about 25 pages) and info in the book(s) Two Centuries of Brothersvalley. I feel some of the people shown are connected to the wrong families and was wondering if anyone else has done research on their own that would be willing to discuss with me? It's been awhile since I've worked on this family so will have to review my info again and get familiar with it. Bobby Troup

Hi list, First of all ... thanks, Rosemary, for starting this Cable list! My Cables are very few (I haven't researched them yet). I have Mary Cable (b. 1776, Bedford Co, PA), wife of Philip Pringle. Mary's father was John Martin Cable (b. abt 1750). Mary & Philip settled in the Pringle Hill area of Cambria Co along with Philip's brother, George, who married Mary's sister, Catherine. My ancestors stayed in Cambria Co, PA until my father left in the 1930s. Diann Olsen Clifton, VA
Hi again List: I have to send an email with the common variations of the spelling of the Cable surname. Could you send me the variations you have seen in your research, so I can answer the email??? Thanks, Rosemary
Hello Cable researchers: I just checked, and saw we had a few members. Thank you for joining. I hope we can help each other out in our research. I think we should start by saying where or Cable relatives are from. We may have to repeat this if we get a lot of new members. My father-in-law, b. 1901 in Johnstown, PA, was Bert (Cable) Miller. His father was Charles Cable and Minnie Dick. Charles Cable parents were John Cable and Maria Callihan John Cable was one of the 17 children of Abraham Cable, Jr. and Eliza Reese. Abraham Cable, Jr was the son of Abraham Cable, Sr and Susanna Stahl Abraham Cable, Sr was the son of Benjamin Cable and Mary (Capt - ?) Benjamin Cable was the son of Philip Cable and Maria Brady. I believe they settled in Somerset Co, PA @ 1732. To the best of my knowledge, that is how our family goes. Rosemary Miller Johnstown, PA
I have gotten the book of Casper Cable and Descendents. Thank you very much. I am interested in other historical books on the area of Fontana, Swain County and Proctor NC. Please contact me at mgagnon@tidalwave.Net if you know of any books that tell about the area in 1900. Thanks again.
I am looking for children of Hezekiah and Nancy Cline Cable. One son named Charlie Cable in particular. They lived in Swain County NC. I believe he was born around 1900 - 1910 and died 1935-1940. If anyone has information from a census, birth or death on Charlie Cable, I would like to hear from you. Charlie married Nellie Swift. 1909 - 1939.
